redress Design Award Collection
Anchita’s Redress Design Award collection, ‘Flowers and Revolution’, is inspired by the symbolism of flowers as beacons of peace. Delicate floral motifs intertwine with bold statement pieces, creating a visual representation of modern times. The collection utilises a wide range of waste including upholstery fabrics, hand-painted silks, leftover materials, and natural dyes from coffee and iron rust. Anchita uses the dyeing techniques of bandhani or shibori to blend in motifs from textile waste rescued from a hand-painted silk studio. To encourage keeping pieces for longer, each garment includes a mending kit and recycling information integrated into labels.
