Celebrating collaborative milestones at Shenzhen Fashion Week SS24

Signing a Memorandum of Understanding

Last month Redress proudly participated in Shenzhen Fashion Week for a second year in a row, and what a milestone in collaborating for circular fashion!

As a demonstration of our shared commitment to promoting and supporting sustainability in fashion in the Greater Bay Area, Redress has officially signed a memorandum of understanding with the Shenzhen Garment Industry Association (SGIA), organisers of Shenzhen Fashion Week.

The newly-minted partnership unites SGIA's influence in the Chinese garment industry and Redress' rich experience in sustainable fashion design to facilitate showcasing of leading design talents, promoting sustainable design concepts, and accelerating the development of the sustainable fashion industry in the Greater Bay Area.

We're excited to take this step towards sustainable development in China, one of the world's largest clothing exporters, together with SGIA.*

Redress Alumni Sustainable Fashion Show

As part of Shenzhen Fashion Week SS24, Redress presented five sustainable brands from our Redress Design Award Alumni in a dedicated runway show. Check out photos here, and watch the highlights in the video below.

The featured Alumni brands were well-received, and included:

XAVAN by 2020 menswear winner, Lê Ngọc Hà Thu, Vietnam

Absurd Laboratory by 2011 Finalist Eric Wong, Hong Kong

Pat Guzik by 2015/16 First Prize winner Pat Guzik, Poland

Our Alumni are at the forefront of a new breed of fashion designers prioritising sustainability and circularity as much as desirability. Check out our Alumni Network to meet these designers who are stepping up to bring a brighter future to fashion.

Further raising Redress’ profile in China, Redress’ Communications Manager, Shirley Aun, had the opportunity to share about sustainability in fashion alongside Ming Pan, President of SGIA, with CCTV channel Radio the Greater Bay. In the interview, she shared optimism for the entrepreneurial nature of the fashion industries in Shenzhen and Hong Kong, and the possibilities for collaboration in order to drive sustainable solutions for fashion.
