The EcoChic Design Award 2012 China Finalist
Xinyan is currently studying Fashion Design at the Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology in China.
For her The EcoChic Design Award 2013 Collection, Xinyan combined up-cycling and reconstruction design techniques to create new outfits using cut-and-sew waste from her own production and secondhand garments sourced from her friends.
I think sustainable fashion begins with the fabric. Fabrics made without harmful chemicals or pesticides that are biodegradable and locally made can profoundly reduce the environmental impact of a product. - Elena Loesch
