redress Design Award Collection
Christopher’s Redress Design Award collection, ‘Riches to Rags to Riches’, is inspired by the Collyer brothers, infamous hoarders who died surrounded by over 140 tons of clutter. The collection upcycles deadstock, vintage end-of-rolls, and scrap materials into elevated pieces that paint a cautionary tale of overconsumption in fashion. Constructed with high-quality techniques for longevity such as French seaming and sew-in canvasing, the outfits include a reconstructed Chesterfield overcoat, one-piece workwear suit made from end-of-roll wool herringbone, and hybrid smoking robe–hospital gown evoking the aura of a sanitorium.
