2022 Overview

2022 Overview

In its 12th cycle in 2022, the Redress Design Award continued to challenge designers to transform waste textiles into high fashion through circular design principles, culminating into a runway show for our nine finalists in the intimate ArtisTree venue in Hong Kong. Along the way, our educational activities supported their growth in creating sustainable fashion, including design challenges which have been turned into case studies for our recently refreshed Redress Academy.

Our Vol. 9 magazine, which offered a sleek new digital interface with additional dynamic content, challenged readers’ views on waste textile with insightful articles, including a dive into the changing landscape of sustainability legislation. We also celebrated a banner year for our Alumni Network, our community of previous finalists and semi-finalists, through large-scale events including for the first time a showcase at Shenzhen Fashion Week.

Find out more about this cycle’s highlights below!
